Crumbs: copycat Waffle House hash brown bowl

Just because Waffle House isn't around here doesn't mean you can't have the delicious hash brown bowl

Nicole Hindberg | Argonaut

There are not any Waffle House locations around this area, which makes cravings for their food hard to satisfy. One of my favorite things at Waffle House is their hash brown bowl. This recipe is a copycat of their recipe. It is not the exact same as their recipe, but it is close enough.

Servings size: 3-4 bowls

Cook time: 15-20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Jimmy Dean sausage
  • Hash browns (as much as desired)
  • 3 Eggs
  • Cheese (optional)

Does this recipe sound good? Here are some more delicious recipes from our staff. They’ve made homemade pretzel bites, guacamole, and buffalo chicken dip.

Directions:

  1. On medium heat, cook sausage all the way through in a saucepan. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. In a different pan, cook the hash browns on medium heat until golden brown.
  3. Scramble the eggs in the pan sausage was cooked in.
  4. Combine ingredients. Place hash browns in first, then eggs, then sausage and finally the cheese if you want.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy.
