Police Tips: Getting Pulled Over

  • Pull over as soon as you can in a safe place once you see police lights
  • Don’t make any sudden movements in the vehicle
  • Keep your hands where the officer can see them
  • Officers will be courteous. They expect the same in return
  • If you have a legal weapon in the vehicle, let the officer know where it is and that it is present
  • The time to argue a citation is in court, not during the incident with the officer. Arguing could potentially lead to obstruction charges or other problems
