If you’re living in 2020 and happen to own a smartphone, you’d have to be living under a rock to not recognize the name “Instagram,” a social media app launched in 2010. When it was originally founded, Instagram quickly rose in popularity, surpassing other previous applications like Facebook and Myspace.
Since June, Moscow’s mayor and local officials have had an ordinance requiring face masks in public. Just a little over an hour away, where I live and go to school at the University of Idaho satellite campus, is the lake and resort town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Here and in the surrounding cities of Rathdrum, Post Falls, Hayden, and others there has been little to no mask requirements, except for the few chain businesses and corporations requiring them nationwide.

The Idaho Pandemic Modeling Group, part of UI’s Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation, makes models based on local data. The group has been working for supplemental funding attached to IMCI’s current National Institutes of Health grant.
People with type two diabetes can suffer from lack of feeling in the hands and feet or constant bowel issues, often thought to be symptoms of their condition. WWAMI researchers at the University of Idaho are ready to challenge that, armed with the claim that toxins present before a person shows signs of type two diabetes can cause nerve and muscle dysfunction in the gut, eventually leading to insulin resistance.
All University of Idaho colleges with animals in their care have received full accreditation from the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC), meaning the quality of care in animal research and use has been acknowledged to be completely up to standard, with no new suggestions for improvements.
