Most people when they hear the name Lenny Kravitz think of one specific song, “Are You Gonna Go My Way”. However, Kravitz has many other albums, the newest of which is “Blue Electric Light”.

“Blue Electric Light” is Kravitz’s first album since “Raise Vibration” released in 2018. “Blue Electric Light” showcases the extravagance and range of Kravitz. The album starts with a strong arena rock song called “It’s Just Another Fine Day (In This Universe Of Love)” and then moves into funkier songs like “Honey”

“TK421” was released in 2023 to coincide with the “Blue Electric Light” announcement. “TK421” sounds similar to late Prince songs like those on “Purple Rain” except the Moog and synthesizer are more apparent and stronger.

Later in the album, Kravitz brings it back to an early rock stage with songs like “Paralyzed” and Love Is My Religion”. These heavier songs are broken up by calmer funkier songs such as “Stuck in the Middle”.

The songs on “Blue Electric Light” aren’t the only interesting part but rather how it was marketed. Most artists from before the early 2000s seem to struggle with modern marketing strategies utilizing social media accounts.

Kravitz, however, seems to have embraced the new age of marketing utilizing social media. Kravitz has even taken the next step of technology using augmented reality.

After “Blue Electric Light” was released all the marketing for the album on Kravitz’s social media was done with augmented reality to replace famous landmarks in large cities. Some examples of these landmarks are the Eiffel Tower in Paris being replaced by a guitar and the Tower Bridge in London having guitars as the end towers.

“Blue Electric Light” is both a beautiful album and a feat of the new age of marketing strategies.
