What’s happening at UI this week?

With midterms fast approaching, it’s important for students to take breaks to do things they enjoy to avoid getting overwhelmed. There are so many fun fall events and activities happening this week for students and the Moscow community to enjoy. 

Career Fair 

On Monday and Tuesday, students can prepare for the career fair with the Resume Rush sessions happening from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Vandal Success Center on the third floor of the ISUB. Students can bring their resumes to receive assistance in perfecting their resumes for the career fair. 

The Fall Career Fair is happening this Wednesday from 2 – 6 p.m. in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. Students can attend to meet and network with over 200 employers interested in hiring students. Students from all majors and colleges are welcome to attend, and more information can be found here. 

Banned Book Read-Out 

This Wednesday, students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the Banned Book Read-out happening in the Gary Strong Curriculum Center in the Education Building happening from 12:30 to 2 p.m. In acknowledgement of Banned Book Week happening from Oct. 1 – 7, the UI community will read and listen to excerpts of banned and challenged books. 

Fall on the Farm 

Students are invited to join the Soil Stewards club this Saturday for Fall on the Farm happening from 10 a.m to noon. Students can head to the Soil Stewards farm at 425 Farm Road to enjoy u-pick pumpkins, tomatoes, a produce stand, photo stand and more! The first $300 worth of pumpkins will be free for students with their student ID. 

Vandal Athletics 

Vandal Volleyball will be competing against Sacramento State on Thursday in the Memorial Gym starting at 6 p.m. They will also be competing in the Memorial Gym on Saturday against Portland State at 1 p.m. 

Vandal Women’s Swim and Dive will be competing against Grand Canyon and Simon Fraser on Friday and Saturday in the UI Swim Center.
