What’s happening at UI this week?

With the start of the new semester, there is no better time to get out and try new things and meet new people. Check out these exciting events and activities happening at the University of Idaho this week and spend some time having fun with the Vandal community to start the year off right. 

Games with Friends 

Thursday from 3-5 p.m. the library is hosting their monthly Third Thursday Boardgames in the Fishbowl. This free event is an opportunity for students to play games with friends and meet new people. 

Pizza and Boardgames will be hosted by Vandal Entertainment on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. in ISUB room 302. Come enjoy free food and another fun opportunity to make friends over board games. 

Women’s Center 

On Wednesday, the Women’s Center is taking over the climbing center with the Women’s Center Takeover – Intro to lead climbing from 6-8 p.m. in the SRC climbing center. All students are welcome to come and learn lead climbing skills. 

The Women’s Center also hosts Friday Crafternoon from noon – 2 p.m. in the Memorial Gym room 109. Students can come enjoy a free lunch and make crafts with friends. 

Late Night at the Rec 

Friday from 8-10 p.m. at the Student Rec Center, students can kick off the semester right with a fun-filled night with friends. Participants can enjoy games of dodgeball, basketball and spike ball, as well as climbing and free snacks. 

Weekend Adventures 

For students looking to hit the slopes this weekend, the Outdoor Program is providing a Mountain Express ski bus to Lookout Pass this Saturday. The cost is $72 for students and includes transportation to and from the pass and a lift ticket for the day. Students can register in the Outdoor Program Office. 

Another outdoor adventure is happening this Sunday with the Snowshoe Hike on Moscow Mountain. The cost is $25 for students and $40 for all others and includes equipment, instruction and transportation. Sign-up is in the Outdoor program office and the pre-trip meeting is Thursday at 5 p.m. 

Vandal Athletics 

Students and the Moscow community can come support Vandal athletes from many different sports this week. Start off the semester by cheering on our UI teams and showing school spirit. 

Women’s Basketball has two home games this week. They will be playing against Northern Arizona University on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the ICCU Arena and facing off against The University of Northern Colorado at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the ICCU Arena. 

The Women’s Swim and Dive team is competing versus Utah Tech on Saturday in the UI Swim Center. 

Vandal Track and Field and Cross Country will be competing at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open, on Friday and Saturday in the Kibbie Dome.
