What’s happening at UI this week

As Moscow enjoys what might be the last of the nice weather before fall really sets in, UI students can take advantage of the sunshine and participate in these fun and educational events. 

Vandal Gear Upcycling 

University of Idaho students have the opportunity to customize some shirts to wear to Vandal game days this Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. in the ISUB ASUI student lounge. This free event will be put on by the Student Sustainabilty Cooperative in partnership with the Apparel, Textiles, and Design club and shirts will be provided but students can bring their own if desired. 

Trilingual Reading 

This Thursday, authors Shawn Vestal from the United States, Tobias Hülswitt from Germany and Hemil Garcia of Peru will be reading selections of their work in its original language, followed by the English translation. This Visiting Writers Project event will be happening from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Kenworthy Performing Arts center. 

Murder Mystery Night 

UI students can become detectives this Thursday from 7 – 9 p.m. in ISUB Room 302 with Vandal Entertainment’s Murder Mystery Night. This 1920’s themed evening of whodunnit shenanigans is a great way to get out with friends, and maybe even solve a mystery. Costumes are encouraged but not required for participants. 

Vandal Sports 

For students interested in participating in intramural sports this fall, three sports have their deadlines coming up this week. Ultimate Frisbee team entries are due this Tuesday by 10 p.m. in the Rec center, Floor Hockey and Volleyball team entries are due in the Rec Center by 10 p.m.  

Vandal fans can cheer on football this weekend as they play against Portland State University on Saturday at noon in the Kibbie Dome. 

Women’s soccer will also be playing at home this week with a face off against Eastern Washington University at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the Kibbie Dome. 

Brave Bold Unstoppable Celebration 

Celebrate the ‘Brave Bold Unstoppable’ funding initiative by attending the Unstoppable pep rally and celebration this Thursday starting at 5 p.m. There will be music, giveaways and snacks at this campus community get together in the ICCU Arena.
