What’s happening at UI this week

For the first month of October, there is no shortage of events and activities for UI students and the Moscow community to enjoy. Don’t miss out on these exciting fall festivities and opportunities to make new friends.  

Get Ready for Halloween  

Don’t get caught without a costume this Halloween, prepare for all the costume parties early by stopping by the Halloween costume sale Monday through Wednesday at Shoup Hall. From 1:30–4 pm, students can come support the Theatre Arts Department and shop for the perfect costume. Keep in mind only cash and check are accepted.  

Women’s Center Keynote  

This is a big week for the Women’s Center, beginning on Wednesday with the Women’s Center 50 Anniversary keynote address featuring Ijeoma Oluo from 7-8:30 p.m. in the ICCU Arena.   

On Tuesday join friends at SRC Climbing Center for the Women’s Center climbing gym takeover from 6-8 p.m.   

For a free meal with friends join the Women’s Center for Lavender Lunch, 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Thursday.   

And on Friday, students can channel their creative sides with Friday Crafternoon from 12–2 p.m. in the Women’s Center.  

Vandal Sports  

After the Vandals’ big football homecoming win this weekend, fans can keep the momentum and excitement going by cheering on all our Vandal athletes this week. Thursday Women’s Volleyball will be facing off against Idaho State at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Gym. Volleyball will play again on Saturday against Weber State University at 1 p.m. in the Memorial Gym.   

The Vandal Track and Field and Cross-Country teams will be competing on Saturday at the Lewis and Clark State Invitational from 1-4 p.m. in Lewiston.  

Outdoor Program  

This weekend the Outdoor Program is hosting a River Canyon Backpack trip on Saturday and Sunday in Riggins, Idaho. There will also be an Intro to Fly-fishing trip on Saturday at the St. Joe River. More information about both trips can be found here.
