University of Idaho ends mask mandate March 1

Decline of COVID-19 cases in Idaho cited for easing of COVID-19 protocols

Breaking News Graphic

University of Idaho President Scott Green announced that the mask mandate will end March 1 as cases of COVID-19 around the state are in decline

Masks will become optional and are no longer required in labs, meeting rooms, hallways or other areas of the university. However, instructors may still require masks in specific classes.

“You should thoughtfully consider your own healthcare needs and wear a mask where you deem appropriate,” Green said. “Be kind and considerate to your fellow Vandals about their decisions to wear or not wear masks. Stay home if you feel ill.”
