UI keeps mask mandate in university buildings

Masks to remain on UI campus until at least Nov. 22

Breaking News Graphic

In an email to all students, faculty and staff on Monday, President Scott Green announced that the University of Idaho mask mandate will remain in effect at least until Nov. 22, over fall break.

This mandate applied to all university offices and buildings owned by the university and other entities, as well as common areas in university housing. Face coverings can be removed in private offices and in personal residences.

Testing is still available through Gritman Medical, as well as take-home tests available at the Student Health Center. UI is also continually encouraging students to get vaccinated, using the vaccine incentive program.

Idaho has also officially joined the Georgia lawsuit against vaccine mandates for federal employees imposed by Executive Order 14042, with the Idaho State Board of Education as the named party. More communication will be expected later this week.
