The Palouse saw a brief flurry of April snow this morning, with gusty winds moving through the area.

Less than half an inch of snow accumulated, according to the National Weather Service. While it may seem odd, snow this time of year is actually not uncommon.

Total snowfall in April for the city of Moscow is 1 inch on average, spread over the course of nine days, the National Climatic Data Center states.

The light blanket of snow is a reminder winter hasn’t finished quite yet, despite the calendar saying otherwise.
