A winter weather advisory and a wind advisory issued this morning warn of additional snow accumulations of up to two inches on the Palouse with gusts up to 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The service also released a hazardous weather outlook for portions of North Idaho.

“Snow this morning will result in slick travel for the morning commute,” the advisory states. “Gusty winds will also create areas of blowing and drifting snow.”

Wind gusts can blow around unsecured objects and knock tree limbs down, according to the advisory. This may result in a few power outages.

The winter weather advisory is in effect until noon, with the wind advisory lasting until 4 p.m.

“Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility,” the advisory states. “Slow down and use caution while traveling.”

The forecast calls for a near 100% chance of precipitation and a 40% chance of precipitation later tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures are in the 30s with lows in the 20s for this week.
