Cases in Ada County: 289

Case No. 1

The first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Ada County was announced March 13.

The individual is a female in her 50s, she was an Idaho State University student in Meridian.

She had not been on the ISU campus since March 10, according to a press release from ISU President Kevin Saterlee. For the full story click here.

Case No. 2

This case was announced March 14, the individual is a male in his 50s. He is self-isolating at home, according to a press release from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

Case No. 3

This case was announced March 17, the individual is a female under 50. She is recovering well and experienced mild symptoms.

“This case has no known association with Ada County’s previously identified cases and an investigation is currently underway to identify potential contact risk exposures. It is strongly believed that the acquisition of this illness is travel-related,” the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare said.

Case No. 4

This case was announced March 20, the individual who tested positive is a staff member at Boise State University, according to an email from BSU.

“We anticipated the possibility of this moment, but that doesn’t alleviate the concern we have for our coworker or the fears and anxieties that people face at this time,” BSU President Marlene Tromp said in a video posted to Twitter. “We know the strength and resiliency of our community. We will support one another and get through this together.”

Death No. 1

On March 28 Central District Health confirmed the first death of COVID-19 in Ada County. This is the fifth COVID-19 death in Idaho.

The individual was over the age of 60 and had pre-existing health issues.

Death No. 2

On March 28 Central District Health confirmed the second death of COVID-19 in Ada County. This is sixth COVID-19 death in Idaho.

Death No. 3

Central District Health confirmed the third COVID-19 related death in Ada County March 30.

Case No. 1

Southwest Public Health District’s website confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Adams County March 31.

Adams County is located in southwest Idaho with its largest city being Council.

Cases in Bannock County: 4

Case No. 1 – Case No. 2

Southeastern Public Health District confirmed their first two cases of COVID-19 in Bannock County.

Bannock County is located in eastern Idaho, with its largest city being Pocatello.

The individuals are both males who are in their 30s and are from Bannock County. Both individuals are at home recovering and had a history of travel.

Case No. 3

On March 27 Southeastern Public Health District confirmed one new case of COVID-19 in Bannock County.

The individual is a male in his 30s from Bannock County. The individual is recovering at home and had a history of travel. Contact tracing is ongoing.

Case No. 4

Bannock County gained one new COVID-19 case March 31, according to Southeastern Public Health District.

Cases in Bingham County: 2

Case No. 1

The first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bingham County was announced March 20, according to Southeastern Public Health District.

The individual is a 37-year-old male with mild symptoms. He is recovering at home and did not require hospitalization.

Case No. 2

Bingham County gained one new COVID-19 case March 31, according to Southeastern Public Health District.

Cases in Blaine County: 351

*There are 352 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Blaine County. One of the individual’s home’s state is not Idaho, so South Central Public Health District’s website will only show 351.

Case No. 1

This was the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Blaine County, and it was announced around 2 p.m. March 14.

The individual is a woman over 50, and she experienced mild to moderate symptoms and did not need to be hospitalized.

Case No. 2

This case was announced around 8 p.m. March 14 according to Brianna Bodily, public information officer for South Central Public Health.

Case No. 3

This case has been confirmed in Blaine County according to South Central Public Health. The individual is a woman over the age of 50, who is recovering at her home and was not hospitalized. It has not yet been determined how she contracted COVID-19.

Case No. 4

The individual is a female over the age of 80 and is currently recovering in the hospital under isolation, according to the Idaho Coronavirus Info twitter account.   

Case No. 5

The individual is a male in his 40s from Blaine County. He experienced very mild symptoms and is recovering well at home.

Community spread with Case No. 5 is now confirmed in Blaine County.

“Community spread means that because somebody has been infected with the virus in an area, and it’s not clear how they got infected, that means that entire area — so the entirety of Blaine County at this point — is potentially suspect,” Brianna Bodily, South Central Public Health District public information officer said. “At this point, there are no areas, necessarily to avoid, everybody should just be careful. They should follow the recommendations that we released before. If anybody at this point is still expecting some sort of hesitancy to follow them — this is a really good reminder of why it is important.” To read the full story click here.

Case No. 6 – Case No. 16

Gov. Brad Little during a press conference March 19 confirmed there are 12 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Blaine County, bringing the total amount of cases to 17.

Out of the 12 cases: six individuals are male and six are female. The males’ age ranges from; one in their 30s, four in their 40s and one in their 50s.

The females range from; one under 20 years old, two in their 30s, two in their 50s and one in their 70s.

On March 20 after Gov. Brad Little announced 16 new cases in Blaine County there were another three cases additional confirmed case of COVID-19 by South Central Public Health.

On March 23 the South Central Public Health District website confirmed 15 new cases of COVID-19 in Blaine County. It is also the only known county in Idaho with community spread of the disease.

Death No. 1 – Death No. 2

On March 26 the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare confirmed the first three deaths of COVID-19 in Idaho, including two individuals from Blaine County.

The deaths include a male over the age of 60 and a male over the age of 80 from Blaine County. It is not confirmed whether they had underlying health conditions.

Cases in Bonner County: 1

Case No. 1

Bonner County confirmed its first case of COVID-19, according to Panhandle District Health. The individual is a male in his 60s whose point of contact is still being investigated. Bonner County is located in northern Idaho with its largest city being Sandpoint.

Cases in Bonneville County: 3

Case No. 1

Bonneville County confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 27, according to Eastern Idaho District Health and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Bonneville County is located in eastern Idaho next to the Wyoming border, its largest city is Idaho Falls.

The individual is a male over the age of 60 who recently returned from travel out of the county.  He self-isolated when he returned but went to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for care. He required hospitalization, but has since recovered and is self-isolating at home.

Eastern Idaho District Health confirmed its second case of COVID-19 in Bonneville County on March 29.

Case No. 3

Bonneville County confirmed one new case of COVID-19 April 1, according to Eastern Idaho District Health.

No other information is available at this time.

Note:

Bonneville County confirmed community spread of COVID-19, according to a press release from Eastern Idaho Health District (EIPH) April 2.

Of two known community spread cases in Bonneville County, both are females, one in her 30s and one in her 40s. Both individuals were not hospitalized and are recovering at home.

In both cases the individuals had no recent travel history and no contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.

Cases in Canyon County: 77

Case No. 1

The first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Canyon County was announced around 2 p.m. March 20, according to Southwest District Health.
The individual is a male in his 60s from Canyon County, and he experienced mild symptoms. He is recovering at home.

He recently traveled to a location that is seeing community spread of COVID-19.

“Please trust us as your public health agency. We will get through this by working together and taking the right steps at the right time. Please follow our recommendations. We are here to support our communities, and the health of those communities is very important to us,” said Nikole Zogg, Southwest District Health district director.

Case No. 2 – Case No. 5

On March 23 Southwest District Health sent out a press release confirming, four new cases of COVID-19 in Canyon County.

Out of the four cases, two are male and two are female. The first male is in his 20s and he traveled to an area with community spread.

The second male is in his 50s and he traveled out of state to a conference. An individual at that same conference was later diagnosed with COVID-19. The first female is in her 40s and the other in her 70s. Their points of contact are still being investigated. All individuals are recovering at home.

On March 24 the sixth case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Canyon County.

On March 25 Southwest Public Health District confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 in Canyon County.

Case No. 9 – Case No. 22

On March 27 Southwest Public Health District confirmed 13 new cases in Canyon County.

Southwest Public Health District also confirmed community spread in Canyon County on March 27.

Case No. 23 – Case No. 40

The Southwest Public Health District COVID-19 website confirmed 113 cases in Canyon County on March 30. This is a case jump of 18 between March 28 and March 30.

Case No. 41 – Case No. 47

Southwest Public Health District confirmed seven new cases of COVID-19 in Canyon County.

Case No. 48 – Case No. 53

Canyon County gained six new cases of COVID-19 March 31, according to Southwest Public Health District’s website.

Case No. 54 – Case No. 68

Southwest Public Health District confirmed 15 new cases of COVID-19 in Canyon County April 1.

Case No. 69 – Case No. 77

Southwest Public Health District confirmed nine new COVID-19 cases in Canyon County April 2.

On March 26 the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare confirmed the first three deaths of COVID-19 in Idaho, including an individual from Canyon County. The death in Canyon County was a male over the age of 70 from who had underlying health conditions.

Case No. 1

South Central Public Health District’s website confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Camas County March 31.

The individual is an adult female who likely became positive for COVID-19 due to travel an area with community spread. She was not hospitalized and is self-isolating at home with mild symptoms.

Camas County is located in southern Idaho with its largest city being Fairfield. Camas County neighbors Blaine County.

South Central District Health and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare have confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Cassia County on March 23. Cassia County is in southern Idaho, with its largest city being Burley, Idaho

The individual is a female over the age of 70, who has been hospitalized. She was likely exposed to COVID-19 by travel to an area with community spread.

Eastern Idaho Public Health (EIPH) confirmed their first cases of COVID-19 in Freemont and Custer County.

And Custer is located in central Idaho, its county seat is Challis. The Custer County is a male under the age of 50, and his contact with COVID-19 is connected to travel in an area with community spread. She was not hospitalized and is self-isolating at home.

Custer County gained one new COVID-19 case March 31, according to Eastern Public Health District.

The individual has close contact with someone who previously tested positive for COVID-19, according to a press release from EIPH.

Case No. 1

Elmore County confirmed their first case of COVID-19 March 30, according to Central District Health. The individual is a female over the age of 50.

Elmore County is located in southern Idaho its largest city is Mountain Home.

Fremont is located in eastern Idaho near the Wyoming border, its largest city is St. Anthony.

The Freemont County case is a female under the age of 60, and her contact with COVID-19 is related to travel outside of the country. She was not hospitalized and is self-isolating at home.

Gooding County has confirmed its first case of COVID-19, according to South Central Public Health District.

The individual is a female in her 50s who’s point of contact is still under investigation. She was not hospitalized and is isolating at home with mild symptoms.

Cases in Jefferson County: 3

Case No. 1 – Case No. 2

Eastern Idaho Public Health confirmed the first two cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson County March 24.

Jefferson County is located in eastern Idaho, with its largest city being Rigby.

The first case is a female over the age of 65. She was not hospitalized and is self-isolating at home. The individual contracted COVID-10 due to travel outside of the country.

The second case is a male over the age of 65. He was not hospitalized and is self-isolating at home. The individual contracted COVID-10 due to travel outside of the country.

Case No. 3

Eastern Public Health District confirmed one new case of COVID-19 in Jefferson County March 31.

The individual is a female in her 40s who tested positive for COVID-19 due to community spread.

She was not hospitalized and is recovering and self-isolating at home.

Jerome County confirmed their first case of COVID-19 March 30, according to South Central Public Health.

Jerome County is located in southern Idaho with its largest city being Jerome.

The individual is a female over the age of 30 and her point of contact is likely from travel to Blaine County. She was not hospitalized and is isolating at home.

South Central Public Health District confirmed the second case of COVID-19 in Jerome County March 31.

Case No. 1

This was the first confirmed case in Kootenai County and was announced around 2 p.m. March 19, according to Panhandle Health District.

The individual is a male in his 60s from Kootenai County, who experienced mild symptoms. He is self-isolating out of state.

Case No. 2

This case was announced March 20, and the individual is a male under the age of 30 from Kootenai County, who experienced mild symptoms. He is self-isolating after returning from traveling.

Case No. 3

This case was announced March 20. The individual is a female in her 60s from Kootenai County, who experienced mild symptoms. She is self-isolating and recovering at home.

Case No. 4

This case was announced March 22. The individual is a female under the age of 18 from Kootenai County. She is self-isolating at home. It has not yet been determined how she contracted COVID-19.

Case No. 5

This case was announced March 22. The individual is a male in his 30s from Kootenai County. He is self-isolating at home. It has not yet been determined how he contracted COVID-19.

Case No. 6

This case was announced March 22, and the individual is a female in her 30s from Kootenai County. She is self-isolating at home. It has not yet been determined how she contracted COVID-19.

On March 24 Panhandle Health District confirmed two more COVID-19 cases in Kootenai County. 

Case No. 7 is a female in her 20s from Kootenai County, she is self-isolating at home. Her contact with COVID-19 is still unknown. 

Case No. 8 is a male in her 60s from Kootenai County, he is self-isolating at home. His contact with COVID-19 is still unknown.

Case No. 9

On March 25 Panhandle Health District confirmed one more COVID-19 case in Kootenai County, according to a press release.

The individual is a male in his 40s from Kootenai County. He is self-isolating at home and his contact of COVID-19 is still under investigation.

Case No. 10 – Case No. 11

On March 27 Panhandle Health District confirmed two more cases in Kootenai County.

Case No. 12 – Case No. 16

Panhandle Health District confirmed four new cases in Kootenai County on March 28.

Case No. 17 – Case No. 26

On March 29 Panhandle Health District confirmed nine new cases in Kootenai County.

Kootenai County has also confirmed community spread of COVID-19, according to a Panhandle District Health press release from March 29. Case No. 13 – Case No. 20, Case No. 22 – Case No. 24 and Case No. 26 appear to be from community spread.

The Panhandle District Health COVID-19 website confirmed one additional case in Kootenai County on March 30.

Case No. 28 – Case No. 31

Panhandle District Health confirmed four new cases of COVID-19 in Kootenai County on March 31. Kootenai County now has 31 of the 32 total cases in the Panhandle District.

Case No. 32 – Case No. 36

Kootenai County confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 April 1, according to Panhandle District Health.

Case No. 37

Panhandle District Health confirmed one new COVID-19 case in Kootenai County April 2.

Cases in Latah County: 1

Case No. 1

North Central Health District (PH-INCD) has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Latah County April 1.

The case is an individual in their 60s who was not hospitalized and is recovering at home. The case appears to be travel related.

The investigation into the new case is in the preliminary stages, according to a press release from PH-INCD. Epidemiologists are working to determine locations visited by the individual and are investigating any close contacts.

There are now 12 cases of COVID-19 in the north central Idaho.

Case No. 1

North Central District Health confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Lewis County April 2.

Lewis County is located in northern Idaho near Lewiston.

Cases in Lincoln County: 5

Case No. 1

South Central District Health confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Lincoln County. The individual is a male over the age of 70 who has been hospitalized. His point of contact is still being determined. 

Lincoln County is located in south central Idaho with its largest city being Shoshone.

Case No. 2

South Central District Health’s website confirmed one additional COVID-19 case in Lincoln County March 31.

Case No. 3 – Case No. 5

Lincoln County confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 April 1, according to South Central District Health.

Cases in Madison County: 4

Case No. 1

This was the first confirmed case in Madison County, and it was announced around 3 p.m. March 17, according to Eastern Idaho Public Health.

The individual is a male Brigham Young University-Idaho student in his 20s. He started feeling ill March 8 while out of state and stayed at home upon returning to Rexburg, Idaho March 11, Director of Eastern Idaho Public Health Geri L. Rackow said.

Case No. 2

This case was announced March 21, and the individual is a male under the age of 70 from Madison County. He was not hospitalized and is self-isolating at home.

Case No. 3

The individual is a female in her 20s who had close contact with a case of COVID-19 in another state.

She was not hospitalized and is recovering and self-isolating at home.   

Case No. 4 

The individual is a male in his 60s who tested positive for COVD-19 due to community spread.

He was not hospitalized and is recovering and self-isolating at home.

Case No. 1

South Central Public Health confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Minidoka County March 30.

Minidoka is located in southeastern Idaho with its largest city being Rupert. The individual is a female over the age of 50 and her point of contact is from out of state travel, according to the press release.

Cases in Nez Perce County: 13

Case No. 1

Idaho North Central Health District confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Nez Perce County. The case is an individual under 60.

No other information is known at this time. The sex of the individual was not released, to protect their identity, though most counties have released the sex of their confirmed cases.

Case No. 2 – Case No. 4

On March 27 North Central Health District confirmed three additional cases in Nez Perce County.

Case No. 5 – Case No. 9

Nez Perce County confirmed five new cases of COVID-19, according to a press release from North Central Public Health District March 30.
There are now 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in north central Idaho, with nine of them being in Nez Perce County. The county reported its first positive case March 24 and its first death from COVID-19 Friday.
Nez Perce County is located in northern Idaho with its largest city being Lewiston.
Investigation into the new cases is in the preliminary stage, according to the release. Four of the five additional cases involve individuals over the age of 75. The other individual is in their 50s.

Case No. 1

This was the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Teton County, and it was announced around 6 p.m. March 14, Health Education Specialist and Public Information Officer for Eastern Idaho Public Health Mimi Taylor, said.

This was the first case in eastern Idaho. The individual is a woman under the age of 60 from Teton County, and she experienced mild symptoms. She is recovering at home.

Case No. 2

This case was announced March 21. The individual is a female under the age of 50 from Teton County. She was not hospitalized and is self-isolating at home.

She contracted COVID-19 from travel outside of the country.

Case No. 3

Teton County confirmed community spread, according to Eastern Idaho Public Health’s Facebook page. 

The individual is a male in his 50s who had no recent travel history or contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case. He is hospitalized and has a underlying medical condition.

This case was announced March 22, and the individual is a male in his 50s who is a part-time resident in Valley County. He is recovering well in self-isolation in Ada County after being tested there.

He had did not travel to Valley County while he was infections, so there is no identified risk to Valley County.

Officials suggest he contracted COVID-19 after traveling to Blaine County.
