Makenna Stuart delivered a standout performance for the University of Idaho women’s soccer team on Oct. 25, scoring twice in a commanding 4-0 victory over Southern Utah University. Coming just three days after Idaho battled Utah Tech to a scoreless draw on Oct. 22, Stuart’s performance highlighted the Vandals’ ability to turn offensive pressure into results.

With two goals in the opening 15 minutes, Stuart set the tone for Idaho’s Homecoming victory at the P1FCU Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. Her early scoring burst helped the Vandals close their home schedule undefeated, adding an electrifying highlight to a successful home campaign. The performance also reinforced Stuart’s importance as Idaho continued its push through the Big Sky Conference season.

Stuart wasted little time making her presence felt on Oct. 25. In the 11th minute, she opened the scoring with a goal assisted by Hallie Prinos-Grumbach, giving Idaho an early advantage and energizing the home crowd. Just minutes later, the pair connected again, with Stuart scoring at the 14:34 mark to put the Vandals ahead 2-0.

Scoring twice in such a short span gave Idaho immediate control of the match. Rather than allowing Southern Utah time to settle into the contest, Stuart helped establish a decisive advantage before the first quarter of the match had passed.

Her efficiency was especially impressive. Stuart recorded two shots and converted both into goals, finishing with a perfect shooting performance. In a match in which Idaho generated 21 total shots and nine shots on goal, her ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities helped separate the Vandals from Southern Utah.

While Stuart’s Oct. 25 performance was the headline, Idaho’s Oct. 22 matchup against Utah Tech presented a different challenge. In front of the Senior Day crowd at the Kibbie Dome, the Vandals battled the Trailblazers to a 0-0 draw in a tightly contested match that tested the team’s ability to create and finish scoring chances.

Idaho outshot Utah Tech 11-7 and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks, but neither side could break through. The Vandals created several opportunities, including a late attacking push in the final minutes, but ultimately settled for a point. Goalkeeper Paula Flores recorded two saves to help secure the shutout.

Although Stuart did not record a goal or assist against Utah Tech, the two matches offered a snapshot of Idaho’s offensive range: a disciplined, scoreless battle followed by a decisive scoring display. Stuart’s brace against Southern Utah made her a central figure in the latter performance.

Stuart’s two-goal outing against Southern Utah brought her season total to four goals, according to Idaho’s official statistics. Both goals came off assists from Prinos-Grumbach, who recorded three assists in the match to help drive the Vandals’ offensive production.

For Stuart, the significance of Oct. 25 extended beyond individual statistics. Her two goals arrived early, helped Idaho dictate the tempo and contributed to a memorable Homecoming victory.

Stuart’s performance stands out as a highlight of Idaho’s 2026 season. Two goals in the opening 15 minutes, a perfect conversion rate on her two shots and a key role in a four-goal team victory made for an exceptional afternoon.

As the Vandals continue their season, Stuart’s performances against Utah Tech and Southern Utah show how quickly a team can turn pressure into production. With their home schedule complete and an undefeated record at the Kibbie Dome, Idaho will look to carry that offensive momentum into its upcoming road matches.
