Established in the summer of 1976, the Moscow Farmers Market is a popular community event taking place downtown May through October. With 2 more weekends remaining until the end of October, students and locals can find regional and local agricultural products, handmade goods, artisan pieces and seek original recipes. The Moscow Farmers market also celebrates local musicians, hosting live music and provides them with an opportunity to interact directly with the community and its visitors.
The Moscow Farmers Market is normally recognized as one of the top 25 farmers markets in the United States in the annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration, hosted by the American Farmland Trust and the Farmers Market Coalition, hitting an all-time high ranking of 8th best in the nation. The Moscow Farmers Market has been ranked No. 1 for several years.
During the year’s final farmers market, they will be hosting a costume party & contest on Oct. 31, 2026, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. in Friendship Square. Judges from the Farmers Market Commission evaluate costumes based on theme, creativity and execution. Contestants have a chance to win and be inducted into the “Hall of Fang” and can pick up their trophies on Nov. 16 during the City Council meeting at City Hall.
