On October 13, Fruit Bats, an indie folk and folk-rock band, performed at the Bruce M. Pitman center. Students and members of the community enjoyed a night full of fun lively music with the opener Matthew Logan Vasquez Band. They began the night with fan favorites, involving the crowd, and having fun with in each other throughout their chemistry on stage. The brought the power from crazy vocals, insane guitar moves to insane rock head bobs. They enjoyed the engagement the audience was giving them and after a 45 minute set they invited fans to go buy merch and to come talk to them.

The Fruit Bats then came on with a smooth transition. It began with the guitar and piano, then bass and electric guitar came in. The drums kept a steady swinging beat for the artists to play along to. The crowd swayed and sang a long to the songs they knew. The Fruit Bats gave a good sense of environment for students to relax and reset before hitting the books during midterms. As they began their set many students yelling and calling out favorites. The main singer assured them that there was many to come in the night. This put the crowd at the edge of their seat, as the stood near the stage, eagerly waiting for what is the next song to be sung.

As the night came to an end, the crowd created memories to last with listening to the musicians and hanging out with friends and family. Though it is the start of midterms, a fun night with rock music to sweet jazz sounding music keeps the motivation there as those memories store in their lives to start the week off strong and finish strong with midterms happening.
