The University of Idaho volleyball team’s standout sophomore setter, Csenge Krakoczki, has continued to make her mark as a key player on the Vandal roster throughout the opening of the 2026 season.
During her record-breaking freshman season, Krakoczki recorded 516 assists, finishing 187 above the previous record holder. With 389 assists so far this season, she is on pace to challenge last year’s total during the final 12 games of the season. Last year, Krakoczki also ranked third on the team in service aces with 17 and fourth in digs with 146. Additionally, she finished eighth in assists in the Big Sky Conference. Her impact on the court extends beyond setting, as she contributes in multiple areas of the game.
Originally from Balatonfüred, Hungary, Krakoczki is the only international student on the Idaho volleyball roster. Before transferring to the University of Idaho, she played for the VEHIR-VESC and Veszprémi Egyetemi volleyball clubs in Hungary. As a teenager, she earned a promotion to the adult team, gaining valuable experience before beginning her collegiate career. Her international background has given her a different perspective that she brings to the Vandal court.
This season, Krakoczki has already established three new career highs. She broke her previous career high of 38 assists against Idaho State by recording 46 against Eastern Washington University. Against both Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado, she also recorded four service aces, setting a new career high. Her 21 service aces this season rank second on the Idaho roster.
Krakoczki has also contributed defensively, ranking fourth on the team in digs with 107. She established a career high of 13 digs against LSU New Orleans earlier this season. Within the Big Sky Conference, she ranks eighth in assists and seventh in service aces, joining teammates Kiana Greer and Koen Makaula among Idaho players ranked in the conference.
Despite the Vandals’ recent losing streak, Krakoczki has continued to produce on the court, averaging 30 assists per game over her last five appearances. She has also recorded 35 digs during that stretch, demonstrating her defensive ability and versatility. At 5 feet, 10 inches tall, she contributes at the net as well, finishing last season with 19 blocks and adding five more so far this year.
As a setter, Krakoczki must read opposing blockers and hitters while making quick decisions to keep the offense moving. Her experience playing in Hungary has helped shape her approach to the game, bringing a different perspective to Idaho’s offense. She has adapted to the pace of American collegiate volleyball, using deliberate movements and composure during intense rallies. Her ability to connect with hitters and make adjustments on the court helps create opportunities for the Vandals’ offense.

Krakoczki made an immediate impact during her freshman season, and that production has continued into her sophomore year. With her continued development and two seasons of eligibility remaining after this year, she has the opportunity to build on her record-setting start and further establish herself in the Idaho volleyball program.
