State legislators, business leaders and community representatives will gather in Moscow Nov. 8 through 10 for the biennial North Idaho Legislative Tour, giving Idaho policymakers a firsthand look at the region’s economy, education system and industries.
The three-day event is hosted by the Idaho Chamber Alliance and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center. The tour is designed to connect state lawmakers with communities across North Idaho and allow them to see the businesses, institutions and infrastructure that could be affected by future state policies.
Other stops include Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport and Bennett Lumber Products in Princeton. The tour will also feature an Idaho agriculture panel and the Governor’s banquet at ICCU Arena.
The event comes as legislators prepare for the upcoming 2027 legislative session. Budget decisions will be particularly important, with the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee (JFAC) responsible for developing Idaho’s state budget, including funding for higher education. The event will give legislators an opportunity to learn more about North Idaho communities before returning to Boise for the start of the session. Organizers describe the event as an opportunity to build relationships between policymakers and the communities they represent.
