Starting on May 11, the Student Sustainability Cooperative is planning to have a donation drive, with six drop-off locations around the resident halls, called Repurpose the Purge. The drop-off locations are the corner of Paradise Creek and Rayburn Street, the westside of Silver Lot 50 (near the Theophilus Tower), on the Theophilus Tower lawn, behind Teophilus Tower next to Paradise Creek Street, behind Living Learning Community Building #4 and one in the common area of the LLCs. The donation boxes will be available through May 16, and all boxes will have signage.
The program ran last year and was able to divert 7,000 pounds of items away from the landfill and into the hands of students during the 2025 Palousafest. Items able to be donated are dorm furniture, hangers, storage containers, fans, reusable water bottles, cleaning products, unopened personal items (shampoo, lotion, toothpaste), dorm décor and small kitchen appliances.
