Open forums for interim provost candidates to be held this and next week 

Dean of libraries, dean of CLASS, dean of the College of Education and Aquaculture Research Institute director are in consideration for administrative position

The University of Idaho is currently searching for a new interim provost, with four candidates selected for open forums later this week and next week. Requests can be made to participate in the open forums held through Zoom. 

The first session will be on Friday, May 1, from 10 to 11 a.m. Pacific Time with Brian Small, a professor of fish physiology and director of the Aquaculture Research Institute. 

On Monday, May 4, from 10 to 11 a.m., there will be a session with Ben Hunter, Dean of University Libraries. 

On Thursday, May 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. , Sean Quinlan, Dean of the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences, will have a session 

The last session will be on Friday, May 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. with Brooke Blevins, Dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences, and a professor of curriculum and instruction. 

Request to participate can be made here. The form must be completed 24 hours before the session. 

The current provost, Torrey Lawrence, who took the role in April 2020, has chosen to step down from his position and return to being faculty at the end of the semester.  

The provost, also known as the executive vice president, is a member of the president’s core leadership team and serves as the chief academic officer. The provost serves as the chief executive officer at UI when the president is unavailable.
