Spring 2026 parent and family weekend at the University of Idaho will be Friday, April 10, through Sunday, April 12.
The weekend is hosted by the Student Alumni Relations Board and aims to create a place for students and families to participate in events, traditions and opportunities together.
On Friday at 7:30 p.m., rapper Lil Jon will be performing in the ICCU Arena with tickets on sale though the UI tickets website. Lil Jon is known as a progenitor of the club-oriented hip-hop subgenre crunk with his top hits being “Yeah!” by Usher featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris and “Turn Down for What” by DJ Snake and Lil Jon.
On Saturday, the Thriving Artist Market will be held in the Vandal Ballroom in the Bruce Pitman Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. where students, alumni and community artists will be selling their work.
At 11 a.m., a cornhole tournament will be held on the Theophilus Tower Law with a $15 registration team per team. From 2 to 4 p.m., there will be a free paint night for students and parents in the Alumni Lounge located at 1212 Blake Avenue near Forney Hall.
From 6 to 9 p.m., there will be a dinner and entertainment by NY NY Dueling Pianos in the International Ballroom in the Bruce Pitman Center, with a $40 cost per person. Dueling pianos is a stage performance with two grand pianos, where each pianist sings and often uses humor and audience participation for their entertainment experience.
Tickets for the cornhole tournament and dinner with entertainment can be purchased though the service Eventbrite.
Parents and family members above the age of 18 will get free access to the Student Recreation Center and Climbing Center on Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and over the weekend from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Family members must be accompanied by a current UI student with their Vandal Card.
Additional activities for families to do over the weekend include mini golf and golf simulators at the Airway Hills Golf Center located at 4811 Airport Road in Pullman, Washington. Minigolf is $15 for one round and $25 for all-day access. Simulator access is $27.50 per room, with prepay required for all bookings given the weekend’s high demand.
Reservations may also be necessary in advance for restaurants over the weekend.
The next parent and family weekend will be in Fall 2026 from Nov. 6 to 8.
