The University of Idaho’s Black Student Union has some events lined up for the month of February to celebrate Black History Month. They will be hosting their own events and collaborating with other UI organizations.

BSU x Idaho Eats (Tuesday, Feb. 3)

From 5-7 p.m., BSU and Idaho Eats will be collaborating to host an interactive food experience in the Eatery. They will be celebrating Black history and the influence that Black culture has had on cuisine, creating a space to learn and connect with others as a community.

Hair Salon Talk (Friday, Feb. 13)

From 6-9 p.m., BSU is creating a space where you can get your hair done, share stories and build community. This event is inspired by the real talk that happens in salons, a space rooted in culture, connection and conversation. They are providing a welcoming environment where people can come to talk, give advice, learn and make friends. The location has not been established yet, but updates can be found ontheir Instagram @uidaho_bsu.

Barbershop Talk (Friday, Feb. 20)

From 6-9 p.m., BSU will be creating a space for meaningful dialogue centered on experience. Similar to the salon, it is a place to share perspectives, laugh and connect with one another. This event promotes growth, self-expression and community through honest, unfiltered and authentic conversation. The location has not been established yet, but updates can be found on their Instagram @uidaho_bsu.

Know Your Rights & Black Pop Culture Court (Monday, Feb. 23)

From 6-7:30 p.m., BSU and the Black Law Students Association are coming together to host this event to break down the legal rights through the state of Idaho. They will be exploring rights through popular media, celebrity cases and trending topics, showing how the law appears in everyday life. Students will be left empowered with knowledge they can utilize. The location has not been established yet, but updates can be found on their Instagram @uidaho_bsu.
