The EDM Duo Ship Wrek, comprised of Tripp Churchill and Colin Maguire, will perform at the International Ballroom at the Pitman Center at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. Drinks will be available to purchase in the Ballroom with a valid ID.
Tickets for the 18+ event start at $8. Those interested can buy their ticket here.
The event is organized by the Duck Club, the self-proclaimed “heart of live music in Boise, Idaho.” They organize an eclectic variety of shows throughout Idaho, most recently, the “Promiscuous” club throwback party held on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Mae Blakeman, the marketing assistant and press liaison of Duck Club, said, “Duck Club’s goal is to bring a series of electronic music to campus, especially as there isn’t a solid choice in Moscow where residents can dance to club music at the moment.”
The Boise-based DJ, NOFO, and Moscow/Pullman local, Grant Ekdahl, will open the night.
“[DJ NOFO’s] sound and energy is perfect for the show.” said Blakeman. Ekdahl is a local and already “plugged in to the scene.”
NOFO says her love of EDM deepened while attending Boise State University. “I found so much joy in being part of the crowd-dancing with strangers who quickly became friends — and I wanted to help create those kinds of spaces for other people.”
The Los Angeles based duo, Ship Wrek, call themselves the “captains of the club” and they are known for synth-saturated, high-energy live sets with “tech house and groovy samples.” According to Blakeman, they are “carving out a niche for their dance-y, punchy tracks on college campuses.”
DJ NOFO praised their “deep sound and driving beats.” Last April, they made their debut at Coachella to great accolades.
Their most popular song and recent release is a collaboration with Disco Lines called “I Don’t Trust a Soul.” They have collaborated with The Chainsmokers on the song “The Fall,” which has 47 million streams on Spotify.
DJ NOFO said, “if you’re looking for a night out with your best friends — or even new friends — this absolutely the show for you.”
