Each year, the Palouse is visited by four ensembles as part of the Auditorium Chamber Music Series, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the University of Idaho event. Internationally renowned musicians will play in four concerts, all of which will take place in the UI Administration Building Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on their respective days.
Female vocal group “Lyyra” will open the season on Sept. 25; pianist Jeremy Denk and violinist Richard O’Neill will take the stage on Nov. 20; the Viano Quartet will perform on Jan. 23; and Quartello Gelato will close out the season on April 2.
Eneida Larti, the ACMS artistic director and a faculty member of the Lionel Hampton School of Music, expressed her excitement for the event in a UI press release. “There’s something unique and exciting this season for everyone, and I am looking forward to sharing it with our audience as we celebrate a meaningful year at ACMS,” she wrote.
“We can’t wait for our audience to experience the gorgeous and rich harmonies of the all-woman vocal group Lyyra, and the extraordinary artistry of MacArthur ‘Genius’ award-winner, pianist Jeremy Denk, and multi-Grammy-winning violist Richard O’Neill,” Larti wrote. “The Viano Quartet will deliver both passion and precision, and we’re thrilled to welcome back audience favorite, Quartetto Gelato, for another unforgettable evening.”
