What's happening at UI this week?

Campus Currents | Riley Helal

Happy Monday, Vandals! There are only a few weeks left in the semester until summer break, and there are some exciting events coming up as the semester comes to an end. Keep up the hard work on finals prep and school!

Jazz Festival (Tuesday, April 15, through Friday, April 18)

The long-awaited Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is finally here! Spanning three days, the Jazz Fest has a lot of fun concerts, performances and workshops for people to attend. UI’s campus will be bustling with music lovers from all over. The newest edition of The Argonaut, released last Thursday, has an in-depth supplement that’s all about the Jazz Fest, and it can be found in various stands across campus and the Moscow community.

Protecting Paradise (Thursday, April 17)

Volunteer with the Student Sustainability Cooperative to help protect Paradise Creek. Meet on the Tower Lawn at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Participants will place and document “No dumping” labels on the storm drains around campus to help remind people to keep the water clean and sanitary.

Circus de Wallace (Saturday, April 19)

Circus de Wallace is a free carnival run by the Housing Area teams and student staff members, and it will be in the Wallace courtyard by the flagpoles from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday. Attendees can expect food, games, activities and even some fun prizes to take home!

Finals Fest (Saturday, April 19)

Join Vandal Entertainment in the International Ballroom of the Bruce Pitman Center from 5-8 p.m. for their annual event, Finals Fest. This free concert is a staple event to celebrate the end of another successful academic year. This year’s lineup will be Desolation Horse and DJ Susan, and there will be free food, drinks and games along with some stellar giveaways at the beginning of the night.
