On Wednesday night, Oct. 9, there was an attempted homicide in Moscow. It occurred on the 100 Block of N. Washington Street.
At approximately 9:42 p.m., Moscow Police Department officers were dispatched to the location due to a report of stabbing.
The report stated that there was a commotion, and that the victim was holding the suspect to the floor at the time they were found. The victim is a 73-year-old male and the suspect is a 35-year-old male. It was later identified that the victim and the suspect are family members.
Upon arriving to the scene, officers took the suspect into custody and the victim was moved to Gritman Medical Care via ambulance to be treated for multiple stab wounds.
The victim’s status is unknown as of 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10.
The suspect was delivered to the Latah County Jail and has been charged with attempted homicide.
The investigation is currently in the early stages with little information available at this point.
The identities of the suspect and victim are not being released at this time.
