After Vandal Giving Day on April 2 and 3, it’s evident how much the community, alumni, staff and other supporters value the University of Idaho.

Vandal Giving Day is an annual tradition that began in 2016 and runs exactly 1,889 minutes to honor the year UI was founded.

This year, UI was able to mark a significant milestone of reaching $1.1 million in donations, which is more than $310,000 more made than in 2023, as per the press release.

Although the majority of donors were UI alumni, gifts were still donated from 41 different states, as well as Canada, Australia, South Africa, Germany, Iceland, Ireland and the U.K., with a total of 2,324 gifts. This also breaks the 2023 record, with 505 more gifts donated this year.

“We are grateful for the many individuals and organizations that chose to make a difference for our hard-working students and high-quality programs during Vandal Giving Day,” UI President Scott Green said in the press release.
