What’s happening at UI this week?

Happy Monday Vandals! As we quickly approach the end of the semester, stay motivated and energized by taking breaks to have fun and spend time with friends. Check out these fun events and activities happening this week on campus! 

Oppenheimer Ethics Symposium 

This week the Journalism and Mass Media department will be hosting the annual Oppenheimer Ethics Symposium, with events and speakers throughout the week. This year’s symposium will feature a film called “Bad Press” along with a panel of speakers and learning opportunities. More information and a full schedule of events can be found here

Connecting U and I Block Party 

This Wednesday, students can attend the Connecting U and I Block Party happening from 4-7 p.m. in the SRC Gold room. The event is hosted by Vandal Health Education and will include information from campus partners along with food, music and games for attendees to enjoy. Students can drop by at any time to get connected with resources and enjoy a fun time with friends. 

Get Crafty 

Join the Women’s Center for Friday Crafternoon this Friday in Memorial Gym room 109 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. This week’s craft is decorating succulent pots. All materials and snacks will be included in this fun crafting break! 

Aerial Arts Performance 

On Friday from 7-8 p.m. and Saturday from 5-6 p.m. the UI Aerial Arts Club will be presenting “Vandals Take Flight,” a circus performance showcase where UI Aerial artists will take the center stage. The show is taking place in the Hartung Theater. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for community members and can be purchased at the door. You don’t want to miss this unique and exciting acrobatic event! 

April Bird Count 

Celebrate the arrival of Spring by attending the Paradise Audubon Society’s April bird count happening on Saturday from 8-11 a.m. in the Arboretum. All students, regardless of birding experience, are welcome to attend this fun opportunity to count birds and learn more about birding! 

Vandal Athletics 

Vandal Women’s Soccer will be competing against Central Washington University at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. Come out to root for our Lady Vandals as they compete this weekend!
