Toast, cheese and eggs are great on their own, but they’re even better when you put them together! This cheesy egg sandwich is a super easy meal to make, and it tastes so yummy. It’s also very easy to customize and add more ingredients to have it taste exactly the way you are craving it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • Butter or oil
  • Personally, I think using butter helps the bread toast and taste better, but either one will work just fine!
  • Shredded cheese of your liking
  • Bread of your choice
  • I use buttermilk bread because it toasts well.
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Seasoning salt

Directions:

  1. Melt some butter or put oil in your pan.
  1. Crack both eggs, season them with salt, pepper and seasoning salt and pan fry the eggs.
  • You can make the eggs however you want, whether that’s over-easy or over-hard.
  1. Butter your slices of bread on the side that will be touching the pan.
  1. Add a layer of shredded cheese onto the bread on the inside (the side that won’t be touching the pan).
  1. Put both eggs on top of that cheese layer, and then add more cheese on top of those eggs.
  • If you want to put any other ingredients onto the sandwich, do so in this step.
  1. Put your slices of bread together like a sandwich and set it in the pan.
  • You may need to add a little more butter or oil to the pan so that the bread doesn’t stick and/or burn.
  1. Toast each side of the bread until golden brown (or however you prefer your toast).
  1. Plate the sandwich, cut it in half and serve with a side sauce (if desired).
  1. Enjoy!
