What’s happening at UI this week?

Welcome back from the much- needed three-day weekend, Vandals! Hopefully the weekend was as productive or restful as you needed it to be, and you’re ready to tackle this new week head- on. There is plenty happening on campus this week to enjoy, so make sure to check out these exciting events and activities! 

Winter Social 

This Wednesday, join ASUI from 6-8 p.m. on the ISUB second floor for a night of games, prizes, food and live music. Matt Mitchell Music Co. will be performing for the event, and there will be opportunities to get to know on-campus organizations and have a great time with friends. 

International Mother Language Day 

Celebrate International Mother Language Day this Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. in the Pitman Center International Ballroom. Hosted by the Bangladesh Association of Students and Scholars, this event is meant to celebrate the diversity of mother languages on our UI Moscow Campus. Attendees are encouraged to wear black and white as they enjoy a collection of activities, cultural performances and talks.  

Get Crafty 

This Wednesday, the MILL at the UI Library is hosting another Make it at the MILL event from 12:30-4 p.m. This week, attendees will get to make “Zentangles” and explore their artistic side while connecting with new friends and peers. The event and all materials are free for students. 

Global Studies Movie Night 

This Friday, students can join the School of Global Studies for a fun screening of “L’Auburge Espagnole/The Spanish Apartment” from 7-9 p.m. in the Kenworthy. The film features a plethora of cultural identities and diverse characters, making it a great way to end the week and support the School of Global Studies. Tickets are free for everyone! 

Vandal Athletics 

Vandal Women’s Tennis will be competing on Saturday against Utah State University at 11 a.m. in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. 

Vandal Women’s Basketball will be playing at 2 p.m. on Saturday against Northern Arizona in the ICCU Arena.
