Happy Valentine’s Day Vandals! This week is meant to be a celebration of love and the people in our lives who are important to us. Take some time away from the business of the semester, hang out with loved ones and do something special for someone important to you. Check out these exciting activities and events happening on campus this week to take a well-deserved break!
Build a Bouquet
On Tuesday, students can prepare for Valentine’s Day by creating a flower bouquet for someone special. There will be plenty of flowers and bouquet options for those who attend the ISUB ASUI Vandal Lounge from 7 -9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Get Crafty
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the button making extravaganza happening in the Library MILL on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Students can come to make adorable buttons for friends of their partner, and representatives from the School of Global Studies will be present to teach attendees how to say “I love you” in multiple different languages.
The Women’s center is also hosting Friday Crafternoon this week on Friday from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. in the Women’s center located in the Memorial Gym room 109. All students are invited to attend to enjoy a free lunch and make a kalimba.
Adopt a Plant
Celebrate Valentine’s day on Wednesday by picking up a beautiful new houseplant from the Plant and Soil Science Club’s Valentine’s Day Plant Sale happening from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on the second floor of the ISUB. Students can choose from a selection of affordable houseplants, succulents and painted pots that would make a perfect Valentine’s gift for any plant lover.
African American Read-In
In celebration of Black History Month, students and faculty are invited to attend and participate in the African American Read-In happening on Friday in the Library room 212B from 12:30 – 2 p.m. Throughout the entirety of the event, Black literature will be read aloud in 1-5 minute increments for everyone to enjoy. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided. More information and the sign up to participate can be found here.
Vandal Athletics
Vandal Men’s Basketball will be competing against Weber State on Thursday starting at 6 p.m. in the ICCU Arena. They will play again on Saturday against Idaho State at 2 p.m. in the ICCU Arena.
