In an enthralling exploration of faith and science, Dr. Gordon Wilson took center stage on Thursday, Nov. 30th, challenging established scientific narratives as he dove into Young Earth creation theory, showing evidence for creationism.

At 7 p.m. in the Vandal Ballroom, Wilson spoke about Young Earth Creation Theory from the Collegiate Reformed Fellowship. This event marked the final event of the semester in the “Colliding Worldviews” series, where Pastor Douglas Wilson previously spoke about hate speech and blasphemy laws on Oct. 19.

Gordon Wilson received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Public Policy from George Mason University in 2003 and his M.S. in Entomology and B.S. in Biological Education from the University of Idaho.

Wilson is currently a Senior Fellow of Natural History at New Saint Andrews College. Before becoming a member of the NSA, he was a faculty member at Liberty University and taught a variety of biology courses.

Young Earth Theory, or Creationism, is the belief that the Book of Genesis describes that God created the universe in its entirety in six days. Creationists believe the earth is around 6,000 to 10,000 years old. Creationists often call themselves biblical creationists because of their direct take on early chapters in the book of Genesis.

Young Earth creationism contrasts with old Earth creation, which says the Earth is around 4.5 billion years old.

Wilson explains that creationist skeptics often depict young earth creationism as an ignorant theory. He tells how old-earth perspectives derive from what is taught in schools, higher education and in the media.

Despite opposing views on Earth’s age, Wilson emphasizes different individuals’ roles of interpretation. He shares, “It is the interpretation of the evidence that makes a difference.”

Both Old, and "young" Earth creation doctrines teach against the bible. The correct presentation is here: https://thyblackman.com/2023/07/02/devout-christians-the-whole-truth-of-biblical-creation-part-1-of-7/
