After an unexpected long weekend, Vandals are back on campus for the final week of classes before Thanksgiving break. With only a few days left before break it can be hard to find the motivation to carry on at his point in the semester, so taking a study break to try something new or spend time with friends might be just the fix. Check out these exciting activities and events happening in Moscow this week!

Candlelight Vigil

On a more serious note, this week marks the one-year anniversary of the loss of our four Vandal peers, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves. In order to remember and honor the victims of the King Road tragedy there will be a candlelight vigil on Monday starting at 6 p.m. on the Admin Lawn. Everyone is encouraged to attend this student-led vigil in order to pay respects and honor those we lost, and those unable to attend are encouraged to turn on their porch lights in solidarity for the grief of the Vandal Family.

Cozy Fest

On Wednesday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in LLC classroom 132 students are invited to join UI housing for Cozy Fest 2023. Attendees can enjoy free snacks, giveaways, games, music and crafts in this fun event happening near the LLC info desk.

This Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. the Women’s Center is hosting the Brown Bag Lunch and learn series in Memorial Gym 109. Students are encouraged to bring their lunch and a friend to hear from a panel of local women scholars who will be discussion the history of women’s groups in Latah County. The event is free to attend and is sure to be an educational and empowering experience.

On Thursday, students can return to the Women’s Center for Lavender Lunch which is happening from 12:30-1:30 p.m.in memorial Gym 109. Attendees can enjoy a free lunch and spend time with friends.
