ASUI elections wrapped up Wednesday evening and five new Senate seats were filled. Voted in by the UI student body, Emily Scrupps, Jonathan Morton, Mason Rossi, Pandey Palak and Zoha Aqeel are the newest ASUI Senators.

Scrupps wants to promote more mental health resources, campus safety and sustainable transportation for students. She’s also hoping to push for more engagement with students and promote overlooked clubs on campus.

Morton is advocating for affordable parking, enhancing current mental health resources and making quality improvements to the Vandal Food Pantry.

Rossi wants to break the mental health stigma on campus, optimize the Polya lab most students attend and build the connection between Greek life and the residence halls.

Palak will aim to promote the cultural exchange program, advocate for more language support systems, push for mentorship programs for students to get more out of their educational experience and revise housing conditions, affordability and meal plans for everyone.

Finally, Aqeel intends to encourage students to employ campus resources, emphasizing professional development resources. She also wants to institute a collaborative farmers market run by students and for students and to provide more support for international students.
