ASUI passes four bills; the King Spud is making a return and My UIdaho is launching soon

VandalWeb is closing down, and it was announced this Wednesday at the ASUI meeting. President Tanner McClain announced the launch of My UIdaho which will replace VandalWeb and it is set to shut down on February 1st, with more information to come.  

“I am making it a top priority for this administration to ensure a smooth transition to My UIdaho from VandalWeb,” McClain said.  

The King Spud is making an appearance this year once again, and more details are to come soon regarding the statue and the rivalry between Idaho State University.  

Senate campaigning is in full swing. “This is the most competitive race I have seen in all of my time at ASUI,” McClain said.  

ASUI is still discussing shuttles to the University of Idaho against Washington State University and more information on that will be available soon.  

Four bills were passed. F23-R05 is a bill that recognizes October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month to support students in those situations.  

S23-B08 is a bill to allocate funds for members of ASUI to create awareness about scholarships that may be available for students.  

F23-B09 is a bill to allocate funds to promote awareness among students about how to create and support a club and organization.  

F23-R03 is a bill favoring three city council candidates: Bryce Blankenship, Drew Davis, and Sandra Kelly.  

Three new bills were introduced. S23-B10 is a bill allocating money for tabling in support of the Rave Guardian App to promote student safety.  

F23-R06 is a bill that will promote bird electric scooters to students as a means of transportation around campus.  

F23-R07 is a bill encouraging students to vote on election day for the Moscow city council for all eligible students.
