Parents and Family Weekend Fall 2023: What to Expect

Parents and Family weekend is a highlight of each semester, and this year is no exception. Check out these fun activities and events happening on in Moscow that students and their families can enjoy! 

Friday, Oct. 27 

3:30-5 p.m. Tradition Keepers 

Grab a Tradition Keeper checklist and snap pictures of all 15 checklist items on campus to get a pin and do 30 to win a medallion! This event is totally free, and you can even show off your pin or medallion on graduation.  

5-8 p.m. Beer & Cider Tasting 

Get some beer and cider samples at the Best Western University Inn. If beer and cider aren’t your thing, there’s also water and soda instead! Appetizers are included with the purchase of a ticket, which is $25 per person for 21 and up, and $10 per person for non-drinkers. 

Saturday, Oct. 28 

10 a.m. Cornhole Tournament 

This single elimination tournament will be held near the Vandal Tailgate location, and food and beverages will be available. The cost is only $10 per team, so get ready for some cornhole and put in your best effort to be the champions! 

11 a.m. Tailgate/Vandal Village Opens 

The Vandal Tailgate is in front of the ICCU Arena, and there’s food, music, performances, a visit from the Sound of Idaho Marching Band and Vandal Spirit Squad, giveaways, games for kids and so much more! This event is totally free and welcome to anyone who wants to join in on the fun.  

1 p.m. Vandal Football vs. Montana State  

Get your tickets from the Vandal Ticket Office before they’re sold out! Enjoy a spirited football game and cheer loud for your fellow Vandals out on the field.  

5:30 p.m. Dinner in Alumni Club Room 

Dinner will be served to-go or you can stay and enjoy your meal. There will be game boards and other activities, and the cost is only $20 per person! 

6 p.m. Vandal Volleyball vs. Weber State 

Finish your night off by supporting the women’s volleyball team in the Memorial Gym as they take on Weber State! Get your tickets online and be sure to cheer loud for the Vandal volleyball team.
