Classic Halloween films everyone should watch this fall

Fall is in full swing which means that it’s time for cozy, or creepy, movie nights with your friends and family. Check out these10 spooky Halloween films to watch this season. 

  1. “Friday the 13th 

“Friday the 13th” is a classic horror movie that’s always good to watch if you’re not into ghosts, demons and the supernatural type of horror movies. The special part about it this year is that there’s a Friday the 13th in October, so that’s definitely the perfect time to watch, or rewatch, this classic horror film. 

  1. “IT”  

“IT”, either the original or the 2017 remake, is a great movie for those who want the classic killer clown scare, mixed with some supernatural aspects. It has a great storyline, fear-inducing music and ominous moments right before the horror jumps out and scares you.  

  1. “Scream” 

Another classic horror movie, “Scream” has both murder mystery and slasher vibes. It’s a great thriller that isn’t too scary for those who don’t like horror, and it’s compelling enough to keep the attention of horror movie lovers, so you get the best of both worlds with this film.  

  1. “A Nightmare on Elm Street” 

This film has a little bit of all the great horror movie aspects such as mystery, slasher vibes, and a little bit of supernatural elements. It’ll do what all good horror movies do, make you afraid to fall asleep. So, whatever you do, just don’t fall asleep.  

  1. “The Nun” 

This film has both sides of the horror movie coin, and you’ll see how a symbol of faith turns sinister. “The Nun” is the perfect film to put on your watch list this fall, with the sequel being released recently, maybe there will be two additions to your spooky list.  

  1. “Annabelle Creation” 

Every little girl’s dream is for their dolls to talk and be alive, but not like this one. “Annabelle Creation” is definitely the right film to watch if you want to bring a fear of dolls to life.  

  1. “Psycho” 

An old one but a good one, this film is a classic horror movie to watch this fall. It’s a psychological mystery with many elements of suspense, and it’s perfect for your horror movie watch list if you want an old-timey vibe. 

  1. “Halloween” (1978) 

Another one of the classic horror films, this movie is great for those who love suspense, slasher films, and of course, Halloween. This is the perfect film to watch if you prefer realistic horror over supernatural horror and it’s not too scary, so it’s a good place to start on your horror movie journey.  

  1. “Insidious” 

This 2010 film is perfect for anyone who loves supernatural demon possession films. It has suspense, chilling music that will haunt your dreams and terrifying entities that will make you jump out of your skin and hate the color red. 

  1. “Smile” 

Smiles are supposed to be an endearing and friendly facial expression, nothing about them is supposed to be scary, but this film changes that. This unsettling horror movie will have you on the edge of your seat or jumping out of it.
