Midterm Munchies’ will soon be reappearing during midterms next week.

The bill was introduced during this week’s ASUI meeting. If the bill passes, ASUI will hand out healthy snacks to students to help motivate them during midterms.

“Midterm Munchies is an event that brings living groups across campus together and not only provides snacks to students but most importantly, good vibes during a stressful midterm period,” Senator Nate Trachimowicz said.

ASUI also discussed another bill that was unanimously passed by members. During the event Fall on the Farm, ASUI is purchasing hot cider that will be given to students until they run out.

“Bills like this are important to ASUI as they help promote clubs that might not be as known around campus,” Senator Trachimowicz said.

In his address, President Tanner McClain discussed a new monument that might be put in the Kibbie Dome.

“This past week, I met with the university leadership on an ASUI monument for the Kibbie Dome,” President McClain said. “This is to show recognition [to] ASUI for what we did for the Kibbie Dome, putting the roof on the Kibbie Dome.”

Kayla Nguyen who is director of safety, health and wellness at ASUI met with the director of public relations and addressed safety concerns around campus.

“We reached out to the University of Idaho head of security to discuss what the lockdown and evacuation procedures would look like,” Nguyen said. “Along with how we could make these procedures and drills more accessible for students to have.”

ASUI also hopes to pass out hot dogs during the upcoming tailgate for homecoming and more information is coming soon. They anticipate that this will bring more participation in the game.

There will also be a raffle for any students who purchased a ticket for the game.

Two new cabinet members for ASUI will be introduced in the coming meetings after interviews are conducted.

The meeting ended with ASUI members strongly encouraging students to purchase tickets for African Night.
