ASUI passed a new bill that appoints the President’s new Cabinet on Wednesday. The bill, No. F23-B02, was unanimously approved and became effective immediately after the vote.

President Tanner McClain addressed the University of Idaho acquiring the University of Phoenix when he met with President Scott Green.

“For the long term, from what I understand, this deal will allow more options for students to pursue education online,” he said.

McClain sees this deal as “positive for the student body.”

President McClain also talked about My UIdaho, which is a developmental app being worked on. He said he has hopes the app will be ready soon. He said the app “is a top priority of mine for this year.”

Along with the Alumni Relations Director, Marie Duncan, ASUI discussed a tailgate that would be hosted by alumni at the ICCU Arena. In previous years there has been live music, food and more. ASUI has high hopes for this year’s tailgate for “students, alumni and all Vandals,” President McClain said.

ASUI will be displaying flags purchased for the last Memorial Day on this upcoming Monday in memoriam of 9/11.

“This is something we can do to remember 9/11,” President McClain said.
