What’s happening at UI this week?

After what was hopefully a restful and enjoyable Spring break, now is the time to get back into the swing of things on campus and finish off the semester strong. Vandal students can check out these exciting events and activities happening in Moscow this week to celebrate the start of spring and the second half of the semester. 

Learn New Skills 

The MILL in the Library is hosting their Make it at the MILL session this Wednesday where attendees have the chance to learn how to macrame. From noon – 4 p.m. in the Library MILL, students can come make macrame leaves and learn this fun art form for free. 

Comedy Night 

This Thursday, students can join Vandal Entertainment for a night of laughs featuring comedian Steve Soelberg. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Admin Auditorium and doors open at 7 p.m., the UI community won’t want to miss this opportunity to see a world-renowned comedian and enjoy a night out with friends. 

Modern Vaudeville Show 

The UI Dance Program and the Lionel Hampton School of Music have collaborated to put on their annual production of DancersDrummersDreamers. This one-of-a-kind show features original compositions, dance, song and even some slapstick comedy that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. The show will be happening this Thursday through Sunday in the Hartung Theater with various times available to attend. Tickets are $10 for students, $14.50 for all others and can be purchased online

Get Dirty and Volunteer 

This Friday, students can volunteer with the Soil Stewards Farm from 3-5 p.m. Volunteers will help water, weed and harvest student-grown organic crops and participants may even get to take home some fresh produce. Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and clothes they don’t mind getting dirty, more information and the link to sign up can be found here.
