The west side of campus is experiencing power outages, according to a Vandal Alert sent Wednesday at 5 p.m. The university did not give reason for the outages, but instructed students and staff that the building would have colder than usual temperatures and to look out for additional guidance later this evening.

Students on campus report the power going out as early as 1:30 p.m. in buildings on campus. UI reports that the following buildings are affected.

  • College of Education Health and Human Sciences
  • ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center
  • Facilities complex
  • ICCU Arena
  • Library
  • Memorial Gym
  • PEB and the Swim Center
  • Wood Chip Storage Facility
  • Dan O’Brian Track and Field Office
  • South Campus Chiller Plant

More information from the university is expected soon. The Argonaut will provide updates as they are provided.
