Six rom-coms to binge this Valentine’s Day

Snuggle up with your partner or watch these classic love stories with friends

Valentine’s day is the perfect time to celebrate love, and what’s more romantic than getting together with people you care about to watch a great film? Whether you’re in a relationship or single, these movies are sure to warm your heart this February. 

Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) 

Featuring a star-studded cast including Steve Carell, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, this heartwarming film follows a middle-aged man whose wife has recently asked him for a divorce. In an attempt to get back into the dating game, he befriends a notorious womanizer who helps him remake his image and navigate the modern dating scene. Hilarious hijinks and unexpected plot twists ensue, making for a worthy watch. This movie can be streamed on Amazon Prime and Google Play. 

Pretty Woman (1990) 

Rom-com icon Julia Roberts stars alongside Richard Gere as a down-on-her-luck sex worker who is hired by a wealthy businessman in need of an escort to some upcoming social events. The two soon realize that there is more to the other than meets the eye, and their love story is sure to sweep you off your feet. Available to stream on Hulu and Amazon Prime. 

Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) 

This classic British rom-com starring Hugh Grant follows an ill-fated man and his group of friends who frequently find themselves attending weddings but never having their own. The main character, Charles, meets a woman at the first of the four weddings in the film, and it’s love at first sight. With fate seeming to find ways to keep them apart, the two decide to take matters into their own hands and take a chance at love. This film can be streamed on Hulu. 

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) 

Kate Hudson and Mathew McConaughey star in this hilarious film that follows a pair who begin dating with conflicting intentions. Hudson plays a journalist who writing a story, and searching for a test subject, on how to drive away a man in 10 days. That man, however, happens to be McConaughey’s character who has made a bet that he can make any woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Sure to make you smile, this movie can be streamed on Peacock and Amazon Prime. 

The Wedding Singer (1998) 

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore bring irresistible chemistry to this musical rom-com that will make you laugh and tug on your heartstrings at the same time. Sandler plays a heartbroken wedding singer who meets a perfect girl after he is left at the altar. The only problem, however, is that she’s already engaged to someone else. This hilarious movie full of classic songs is available to stream on HBO Max and Amazon Prime. 

Valentine’s Day (2010) 

No Valentine’s rom-com list would be complete without this movie that’s appropriately named after the holiday. With a jam-packed cast that includes Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Bradley Cooper and Taylor Swift, the movie follows several couples who experience love and heartbreak over the course of Valentine’s Day. Available to stream on Amazon Prime, Vudu and HBO Max.
