This semester’s Parent and Family Weekend hosted by the University of Idaho Student Alumni Relations Board is jam-packed with fun activities and events for students to attend with their parents and families. There is something happening every day from Nov. 4-6 and there is an event or activity for everyone. 

Beer Tasting Nov. 4 

Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Best Western Plus, students and families can experience a night of beer and cider tasting. The cost is $25 for attendees over 21 years old and $15 for those under 21. Local breweries will be providing beer, cider samplers and appetizers will also be provided. In addition, participants can enjoy lawn games, music and raffle giveaways all night. 

Cornhole Tournament Nov. 5 

During the Vandal Tailgate on Saturday, families and students can compete together or even against each other in a cornhole tournament starting at 10 a.m. The cost is $10 per team, and it will be a double elimination tournament taking place on the ICCU Arena main court. 

Vandal Tailgate Nov. 5 

Families can have fun and socialize before the football game this Saturday at the Vandal Tailgate. There will be venders selling food and drinks and lots of fun activities to enjoy. 

Vandal Football Nov. 5 

Parents, families, students and all Vandal fans can cheer on our football team as they face off against Eastern Washington University this Saturday starting at noon. Tickets can be purchased online before the game here

Game Day Dinner Nov. 5 

Spend time with other Vandal families and enjoy a stress-free dinner after the game on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. Students and families can head to the Idaho Alumni Club in the ICCU Arena for a quick and easy dinner that can be taken home or enjoyed on-site. There will be games and other activities available, and the cost is $15 per person. 

Cabaret Nov. 4-6 

Come see this thought-provoking and relevant musical in the Hartung theater, showing Friday through Sunday. Put on by the UI Department of Theater Arts, in collaboration with the Lionel Hampton School of Music and the Movement Sciences Department, this show is full of energetic song and dance that will be an exciting experience for students and families. Shows will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The show is free for students and $25 for others, tickets can be purchased online here

Students and families have no shortage of exciting activities and events to keep busy with this Parent and Families weekend. From beer tasting to game day fun to musical theater, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
