Louise Forsyth is the second former Idaho women’s basketball player to sign for a professional team overseas this summer.

Forsyth joined the Vandals during the 2021-2022 season after four years at Gonzaga. She averaged 2.3 points and one rebound in 8.2 minutes per game for the Bulldogs. Her numbers significantly increased in her season at Idaho. She averaged 12.9 points, four rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25 minutes per game for the Vandals.

In a 76-73 loss, Forsyth put up a career high 29 points off the bench against Montana. The double-digit outing was just one of her 23 total last season.

Forsyth was named Big Sky’s Top Reserve and honorable mention all-conference last season. She also graduated with a degree in environmental science and was an academic all-conference selection.

“I am so happy for Louise that she has achieved her lifelong goal of playing basketball professionally,” Idaho head coach Jon Newlee said. “Lou was the hardest working player I have ever had the pleasure to coach, nothing stopped her from working on her game every single day. I know she will represent all Vandal nation overseas! Proud of you Lou!”

Forsyth will play for Esperance Sportive Pully in Pully, Switzerland. The team had a 4-20 record last season. Pully only had nine players on their roster last season, the second least of any team in their conference. Forsyth will add great depth for Pully, just as she did in her role at Idaho, coming off the bench in 22 of her 32 games played.
