UI civil engineering student passes away

An incoming sophomore passed away in June

Breaking News Graphic

The death of a University of Idaho incoming sophomore was announced Friday in an email from Dean of Students Blaine Eckles.

Ethan Page was originally from Middleton and studied civil engineering at UI for his first year.

“His passing understandably weighs heavily not only on his family but also on members of the Vandal community,” Eckles stated in the email.

Page passed away June 17, with memorial services to be held July 22 in Nampa. More information can be found on his tribute page

He enjoyed spending time playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends and considered them to be family, according to the tribute page.

Students impacted and in need of assistance during this time can contact the Counseling and Testing Center at 208-885-6716. If you are concerned about a student, faculty or staff member and are unsure of what to do, a VandalCARE report can be filed to the university.

The Argonaut shares our condolences and hopes to provide a full obituary if Page’s family and friends feel comfortable sharing.
