McClain and Fitzgerald take ASUI presidential election

Their campaign secured 61% of the vote

After a rigorous campaign, Tanner McClain and Madison Fitzgerald won the ASUI presidential election. 

“I’m really happy to have been elected. I want to thank everyone who helped support me and I want to thank everyone who voted for me,” McClain said. “I’m excited to get started on the job.” 

McClain and Fitzgerald received 900 while Katie Hettinga and Olivia Niemi received 506 votes, with 1,470 total votes cast in the election.  

Fitzgerald said that she is also excited to have won the election and will review their election campaign. 

“(We will) talk about it with our campaign team, go through the highs and lows throughout the campaign season and get ready for ideas,” Fitzgerald said.
