LIFE Hacks: March 28- April 1

Vandal Students have a lot to look forward to this week, with so many exciting events and on campus activities to attend. 

To start the week of right, on Tuesday, March 29 students can attend the grand opening of a brand-new building on campus. The Seed Potato Germplasm Laboratory is having a grand opening event from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. which will include a program and tours of the new facilities. On Thursday March 31, students are in for a real treat with the first annual Connecting U and I Block Party from 4 – 7 p.m. Students can come down to the ISUB Plaza and have fun with games, music, prizes, and food, as well as helpful information about campus resources and how we can all support one another. 

For an exciting and entertaining cultural celebration, come to the 21st annual Tutxinmepu Powwow on Saturday April 2 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the ICCU Arena. Native American dancers and drummers from across Canada and the Pacific Northwest will be sharing their incredible talents for anyone to view. Native Artisans will be in attendance with wares people can purchase, and there will be a free feast at 5 p.m. This event hosted by the Native American Student Center is free for everyone and is an exciting tradition worth attending. 

Lastly, students can experience even more of other cultures with the ‘Cruise the World’ event this Sunday April 3 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Pitman Center. International students and UI employees will be showcasing their cultures through food and music during this exciting and educational event. Admission is free and food and drink will be for sale throughout the event.
