Vandal women’s soccer draws against Southern Utah University

The Vandals took on Southern Utah University at the Kibbie Dome this Sunday afternoon. Idaho’s fourth Big Sky Conference match concluded in a draw after going into double overtime with a final score of 0-0.

Idaho held strong through the highly physical game in which Southern Utah’s players drew two yellow cards.

Senior goalkeeper Avrie Fox was a standout for the Vandals. Fox saved all nineshots she faced, having her sixth shutout match of the 2021 season.

Idaho started off the 2021 conference season with a loss against Weber State, followed by two wins, one against Idaho State University, 1-0, and another against Northern Arizona University, 3-1.

After the match today against Southern Utah University the Vandals now have an overall record of 8-2-2  and 2-1-1 in conference.

Today’s match places the Vandals at fourth place in the Big Sky Conference standings, behind University of Montana.

The Vandals will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 8, where they will be on the road again and take on Sacramento State University.
