SMART Transit restricts Saturday routes

A lack of drivers limits two routes to one shared bus

The local SMART Transit routes are seeing restrictions due to a lack of drivers, with Saturday routes now limited to a single bus service temporarily.

Normally one bus serves the East Route, moving from the University of Idaho campus and through downtown, while another serves the West Route, passing by Winco and Walmart.

With only one bus, the routes will alternate every half hour. The East Route will be driven in the first half of an hour and then the West in the second half.

The East Route will no longer stop at Moscow High School or East City Park. The West Route will not stop at Ash St., the ISUB or Rosauers.

The notice is posted on flyers at bus stops and updates can be found on their Twitter. Information on routes can be found on their website, though there is no information of the closure.

For questions about specific stops, SMART Transit can be reached at 208-883-7747 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekdays.
