Fatal shooting in Pullman with suspect arrested

The incident occurred Saturday morning, leaving one dead and another with life threatening injuries

Pullman Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning on Washington State University’s College Hill with one individual being fatally shot and another with life threatening injuries. 

Pullman Police responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. at a loud party of possibly 200 people. Police heard multiple gunshots shortly after their arrival. 

Near the area of Williams Drive and Lybecker Road, the police found the two injured male individuals. 

They were transferred to Pullman Regional Hospital where one died. The second individual has been transferred to a Spokane hospital by Lifeflight. 

At least one victim has been confirmed to be a WSU student. Names have yet to be released. 

George Melvin Harris III was arrested for second degree assault while the investigation is still ongoing.

WSU alerted students to the potential threat at 1:50 a.m. and updated them at 5:42 a.m. once the area was secure.
